The club was formed in 1983 with the intention was to cover all aspects of modelling i.e. aircraft, boats, cars, trains etc. unfortunately, due to the lack of support interests other than aircraft , the club was reconstituted as the Newent & District Model Aircraft Club. The club flies from a field in Upleadon approximately 3 miles outside Newent for a maximum of 4 hours between 10am and 7pm Tuesday through to Sunday and on Thursday evenings in Summer. Although predominately fixed wing, helicopters and multi-rotors are also flown, the site is not suitable for jet turbine powered aircraft.
